A short story about the woman who wants to change her husband

There was a beautiful and kind-hearted girl who enjoyed doing good deeds and helping those around her, which made many men admire her. Among them was a sincere and responsible young man, and so she believed that he would make a good husband in the future, understanding and loving her.

However, after a few years of marriage, everything in her eyes completely crumbled about her ideal husband. Her husband’s care and concern gradually diminished, and he often became irritable and even indifferent when she needed encouragement and comfort. The disappointment inside her grew larger, covering up the gentle face she used to have, replacing it with an annoyed frown.

Deep down inside, she only wished that he could change for the better, but the more she tried to advise, the worse it got. After experiencing numerous failures, she eventually gave up, thinking that “the things inherent in nature cannot be changed.” From then on, she “ignored” him and the conversations, debates, and arguments gradually faded away as she saw silence as a safe solution in this marriage that had become dull.

At the same time, she had to gradually get used to loneliness, despite her belief in karma. During times of sadness, she only knew how to confide in front of a statue of the Bodhisattva.

One night, she had a dream where she found herself in a stunning garden. In front of her was a Bodhisattva standing on a lotus pedestal, and there were many shimmering rays of light emanating all around. She joyfully clasped her hands and bowed to perform the ritual. Then, she shared her thoughts and urgently begged for time to be turned back so that she could make a different choice.

– The Bodhisattva emphasized, Have you thought it through carefully?

– The woman firmly affirmed, “Yes, I have. I no longer have any emotions for my husband, and I only hope to find someone who truly loves and cares for me.”

– The Bodhisattva remained silent for a moment before saying, From today onwards, there will be someone else to replace him by your side.

The woman thanked and bowed to the Bodhisattva before going home. When she arrived, she was pleasantly surprised to find a man busily preparing delicious dishes for her. He looked just like the “perfect” man she had imagined – with masculine features, a gentle tone, and a calm demeanor. Additionally, his humor, intelligence, and understanding of women completely won her over.

At first, she was satisfied with her choice, but as time passed and they lived together, her husband gradually changed. He no longer wanted to chat or listen to her and even acted “sneaky” behind her back. The overwhelming pain caused her heart to become so damaged that she could no longer bear it.”

The woman returned to the Bodhisattva’s garden and asked, “Why is it that despite doing many good deeds and never deceiving anyone, I have never received complete love in my relationships?

Bodhisattva gently replied: “Once we demand fairness from doing good deeds, it means we are compromising with greed and Opposed to love. Because in love, greed cannot coexist. So, Therefore, love must leave to prevent greed from causing suffering oneself. Because our greed unintentionally hurts our partner’s feelings. Remember that when we hold onto gratitude, stop complaining, and let go of grievances, only then can the energy of love and understanding truly return to both partners.

After listening, the woman jolted awake and sat pondering for a while, becoming more deeply immersed in the profound meaning of love. Subsequently, she turned to gaze at her soundly sleeping husband with an affectionate look and a happy smile on her face.”
